Kaffe til solcellene?

Kaffe til solcellene?

Coffee Facts, News
For ordens skyld brukte forskerne kaffe brygget

Coffee or tea? It might be a question of genetisk.

General information, News
Like myself, some might chuckle at the absurditet when the airplane stewardess asks wether you’d like coffee or tea. Brits and Indians excempt, who in their sane mind chooses tea? Recent reasearch might however prove that those of us blessed with the right version of the specific gene recognising and tasting bitter and sour flavours, might genetically be more adapt at enjoying coffee, rather than tea. Noen liker te, men hva feiler dem?
Coffee cause of cancer in California?

Coffee cause of cancer in California?

News
Well, one might wonder if coffee consumed in the state of California has a higher risk of causing cancer, than anywhere else in the world. Mostly because of a Californian court ruling, stating that coffee should be marked with a warning of potential cancer risk! En uskyldig bønne ?  While the American Cancer Society have been clear that coffee is NOT among the highest risk items. Even though coffee contains acrylamids, as do fried food and cigarette smoke, the amount of this carcinogenic substance is so low, chief medical officer Dr. Len Lichtenfeld of the American Cancer Society, recommend coffee drinkers to take the warning lightly. However, Californian law states that any vendor of drinks and food should mark any substance containing carcinogenics as a potential cancer ri
Does coffee make you bald?

Does coffee make you bald?

General information, News
Bad rumours have a tendency to travel twice or even three times as fast as good news. So people end up believing just about anything, like coffee being an antagonist for early onset of balding? Rumours or actual facts? I felt compelled to investigate. As most of you might know, coffee is rich in antioxidants. These do the work of stimulating healthy cell rejuvenation, preventing the decrease of new hair production. To get the most out of the coffee, darker roasts are recommended, as they have more antioxidants. Research published in the International Journal of Dermatology, has shown that caffeine stimulates hair growth. And as a result of many earlier studies also showing the positive effect off caffeine in hair, it has become a key ingredient to many hair loss “cures”. If st

Is Coffee Cheating at Sports?

The short answer to this question would be "that depends how your genes are". We´re all wired in different ways, and for some of us caffein won´t have the least bit of performance enhancing effect. Recent science on genes and how they effekt the bodys ability to handle caffein has show that one single gene can have a lot to do, if you´re looking to enhance your performance with caffeine. And on the opposite side, the same genes effect sleep, tremours and/or anxiety with high caffein levels. The "guilty" gene is named CYP1A2, and is in charge of controlling the enzyme that metablizes caffein in the body. People born inheriting this gene from both parents, can metabolize coffee faster and usually have a notibly quicker effect. Rought estimates say that approximately 50 per cent of t

Coffee dehydrates the body ?

Coffee dehydrates the body ?

General information, News
If you believe everything you´re told, even this outrageous claim would be believable. Even though coffee is brewed using water, some people still claim that coffee and other caffeinated beverages will make you dehydrated. Could this be true? The effect coffee has on the body´s waste management system is indisputable, caffeine being an accelerator of the kidneys. This makes the kidneys expel excess sodium and water through urine. So if you´re worried that you´re going to get dehydrated constantly having to urinate, you can relax. The amount of urine is not an indicator of how hydrated the body is. As explained in the words of Dr. Daniel Vigil,  professor at David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California Los Angeles. “When you drink a cup of coffee or you drink a gl

Når på dagen passer kaffen best?

General information, News
